Council Leader, Councillor Mary Ann Brocklesby
"As we've moved into September, it feels as if a new year is upon us. Children may be starting their school journeys, some will be moving up to another year, while others will be starting at a new school.
"Each month, I'll be posting a blog on Let's Talk Monmouthshire to share my thoughts on the council's work, sharing with you the latest updates from what I've been doing as I travel across the county.
"As the leader of Monmouthshire County Council, I am constantly inspired by the fantastic things happening in our communities. Our council is committed to doing more with you, our residents, to enhance the quality of life for everyone.
"Last year, we conducted a survey, and the majority of you expressed satisfaction with our efforts to support children in school and older people in social care. We were also recognised as the best in the UK for our recycling and waste management efforts. While these achievements are commendable, we recognise that there is always room for improvement.
"As a resident of Abergavenny, I understand that it's the small things that matter most to us. These small things contribute to our wellbeing and make us feel part of the community. I want to understand what matters most to you and collaborate to achieve it.
"In the coming weeks and months, I would like to visit community events and groups throughout Monmouthshire to learn more about your work and initiatives, to have conversations about how we can work together for the benefit of our communities. If you are interested, please provide information about the events and groups in the short form below. I will do my best to attend as many as I can."

If you would like Cllr Mary Ann Brocklesby to come along to your community group or organisation in the coming months, please use this form to express interest.
We're aiming to accommodate as many groups around the county as possible, diaries permitting, however we cannot promise to be able to meet every request due to other council commitments in Mary Ann's diary.
In this form we'll ask for some suggested dates - if you can be flexible and send a selection of dates, this will be helpful when we are planning the visits.
