Usk Town Council and Monmouthshire County Council are working together to improve Usk’s public realm. The project focuses on Bridge and Twyn Square. Both Bridge Street and Twyn Square are very vehicle-dominated spaces, where people who are using the spaces to shop, eat out or socialise are pushed to the edges. Our objective is to make these places safer and more people-friendly, while still accommodating the current flow of traffic. This will have the potential to bring a range of benefits to the town, including a more vibrant town centre and increased footfall to local businesses, and will allow for a wider range of activities and events to take place.
The survey below runs from Friday 15 May until midnight on Sunday 7 June 2026.

In Person: you can meet Council officers and the design team on Friday 15th (10am-6.30pm) and Saturday 16th May (10am-2pm) at The Grange - 16 Maryport St, Usk NP15 1AE. Some of the display panels will also be on display outside the Co-op food-store. Paper copies of the survey are available from Usk Town Council at the Sessions House or at the Community Hub, both on Maryport Street in Usk.
What happens after the consultation?
After the consultation, we will publish a report of the feedback we have received, and we will update the draft designs to reflect the comments that have been made. If you wish to be kept informed of future developments, please leave us your contact details towards the end of the survey below.
