Every year, Monmouthshire County Council makes considered decisions on how to most effectively and efficiently use its budget to deliver the key services that you and all Monmouthshire's residents rely on.

We’re dedicated to helping the most vulnerable, giving children the best start in life, tackling climate change and ensuring that every pound is spent wisely.

Our proposed budget and priorities for the financial year 2026-27 reflect what you’ve told us matters. These are your local services — and before we finalise anything, we want to hear your views.

Your feedback helps us understand whether we’re focusing on the right priorities. It also shows if the proposals seem fair, reasonable, and relevant to you and your community. Your input has shaped the budget before, and it can do so again.

We've put together an OVERVIEW OF THE BUDGET & PRIORITIES summary document. This will help you make an informed decision. Please take a look and let us know if you agree.

For full details, check the cabinet report and supporting documents available below. They will give you more information about each of our services.
